At Tregoze we take children's mental health very seriously. There are a number of ways we can help both at school and with support from outside agencies.
Here are some of the services that can support children in Swindon:
ELSA: Emotional Literacy Support Advisors
We have two trained ELSA's in school. We can arrange for them to meet with a child during the school day and offer support. This may be individually or as part of a group depending on what seems most appropriate.
Project Me: school based support through Project Me provided to school by Barnados.
Hi, my name is Sharon Lepak and I am a trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner working for Barnardo's Project Me . This means that I work in different schools in the Swindon area and I am now the designated EMHP for your school.
Each week I will spend time in your school, working with individuals, groups or classes to support with mental health and wellbeing. The support I can offer is low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy which concentrates on how our thoughts and behaviours can affect how we feel. It is all about the here and now, learning to cope with anxiety, low mood or behaviour difficulties. In sessions I will support children to learn skills and techniques to manage how they feel and to cope with things that happen in our daily lives.
If you feel this is something that could help your child, please speak to your child's teacher as a first step.
I am really looking forward to working in your school community and being part of the team supporting your child in their learning.
