What a busy first week back we have had!
In Maths we have been learning to add and subtract decimals up to 3 decimal places mentally and using written methods. We will now be using these skills to use and apply to real life problems.
We are thrilled and very proud of our chapters that we have been writing based around ‘How To Train A….’ in the style of the author Cressida Cowell. We have applied our creativity and imagination to our writing when devising ways to tame and teach our creature. We are looking forward to completing, revising and publishing these next.
Our topic this term is based around the Ancient Greeks. We have just been learning about how her empire has developed and how different it looks today. Next, we will be researching different states- Athens and Sparta, which we will then compare.
In PE we have just started our training to be PE leaders. This involved completing a number of activities involving a lot of communicating. Initially we had to try to complete the activities in silence just to teach us how important communication and organisation is. We also started our Kwik Cricket unit with a focus on different ways to throw and fielding.
In Science, we have started our life cycles unit. WE have been learning the parts of a flower and their function. Over the next few weeks, we will be learning about germination, pollination and fertilisation.
