Today, children and school staff around the country are taking part in a range of fun activities to raise money for Children in Need. The charity works to ensure that every child in the UK has a safe, happy, and secure childhood. They use the donations to fund their work and provide grants to organisations for projects that help disadvantaged children and young people all over the country.
This year, the children of Tregoze are supporting Children in Need by creating their own class and individual challenges. The School councilors have challenged each class to ramble around the school field each day. They will all be trying to beat their daily totals. This will culminate on Friday 13th with our Fancy Dress Ramble. In addition, the School councilors have asked every child to set their own personal challenge just like the CIN Rickshaw challenge team. Our school value this term is perseverance and we have challenged each other to ride our scooters and bikes as long as we can in fancy dress. I wonder how far you can go?
By Thursday, we'd already raised £150 and we've still got many donations to collect! We'd like to thank the School councilors who have been very supportive and have enjoyed motivating their classes to take place in this year's fundraising events!
Since hitting the airwaves of the BBC in 1980, Children in Need has helped raise over £950 million to help disadvantaged young people in the UK. Schools play a huge part in helping to raise money and supporting the event.
At Tregoze Primary School, we view Children in Need as a great platform to teach our students how to be charitable and kind, and about the importance of helping others. Learning the significance of these values will help to develop lasting habits that will be practised in adult life.
