We are proud and delighted to announce that Tregoze Primary School has been awarded funding for an Erasmus+ project. Lasting two years, this project is fully funded by the European Union.
During the project, the staff and students at Tregoze will be working collaboratively, on a shared theme, with four European schools in Germany, France, Italy, and Crete. We will regularly exchange work and ideas with our partner schools, and there will be opportunities for children to visit other countries and experience school and family life in different cultures.
We decided to launch our project yesterday, Thursday 26th September, so that it coincided with European Day of Languages, which we also celebrated.
Frances Collins, our International Coordinator, said: "We feel very privileged to have been awarded the Erasmus+ project. They are difficult to get, and we are one of very few schools in this area to have applied successfully! Combining the launch of the project with European Day of Languages seemed too good an opportunity to miss.”
She continued: “Our project will certainly be encouraging children to learn a little of all four of the partner languages as well as finding out about the lifestyle and culture in a first-hand way. I can't wait to get started and I look forward to the opportunity to take children to experience school in another country!!"
Yesterday started with a whole-school assembly introducing our pupils to the project and our partners. Throughout the day, each class studied one of the partner countries in detail. They also took part in a range of activities, including cooking, researching, tasting, creating artwork, speaking the language, and learning all about the countries and regions where our partner schools are located. Children were all dressed up in either national dress or the colours of the national flag of their country.
Some of the work we produced, as well as photos of our celebrations, will be among the first items to be exchanged as part of the project. Today, our school will come together in a celebration assembly to share all the wonderful work that has been made today.
