School Wellbeing Action Team (SWAT Team)
At Tregoze Primary School, we believe it is essential for our children to understand their rights and responsibilities as valued members of both our school and the wider community. To ensure that every pupil has a voice, two children from each year group (Year 1 to Year 6) are elected annually by their classmates to represent them on our School Wellbeing Action Team (SWAT Team).
Our SWAT Team plays a vital role in promoting participation, leadership, and pupil voice. Through this responsibility, pupils learn about democracy, active citizenship, accountability, and positive contribution—both locally and globally. Being a SWAT representative is a significant and respected role that allows children to develop confidence, communication skills, and a real sense of ownership in shaping our school environment.
Members of the SWAT Team are expected to model the highest standards of behaviour, attitude, and effort, both in school and beyond. They meet regularly to discuss ideas, share pupil feedback, and agree actions to help continually improve our school. Meetings are pupil-led: the Chair sets the agenda and guides discussion, while the Secretary records decisions and ensures all actions are followed up.
The SWAT Team embodies our belief that every child can make a difference and that their ideas matter. By working together, our young leaders help make Tregoze Primary an even better place to learn, grow, and thrive.
