Tregoze Primary School’s Under-11 boys’ football team had an unforgettable experience at the South-West Regional Finals in Bristol on Saturday 22nd March. Representing not just Tregoze Primary but the entire county of Wiltshire.
After securing their place as county champions, the boys faced an incredible challenge, competing against the best teams from across the region. The standard was exceptionally high, as every team in the tournament had also won their respective county championships.
Despite putting in a great performance, the team narrowly missed out on progressing past the group stage after two tight 1-0 losses and a 0-0 draw. The matches were incredibly close, reflecting the very high quality of football at this level.
Though they were disappointed, the boys understood what an incredible achievement it was for them to reach this stage. Representing Wiltshire was something to be extremely proud of and a memory that will last for a long time.
The day was made even more special by the huge number of parents and family members who came to support the team, making it a truly memorable occasion for all.
Coach Shaun Preen praised the team’s commitment and sportsmanship, highlighting their dedication and hard work;
“Everyone at Tregoze Primary, remains incredibly proud of the players for their outstanding efforts throughout the tournament. We’re excited for where this will take the team in the future…hopefully getting another shot at it next year!”
Well done to all involved!
